Move Overheating Fan Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Chevy Move is experiencing severe overheating due to an electric fan that is barely spinning. The initial checks on fuses revealed no issues. The problem is likely due to a faulty fan motor or a damaged wiring harness. The solution involves inspecting the wiring for damage or corrosion, and if necessary, seeking professional assistance. Ultimately, the issue was resolved by fixing a dodgy connection at a garage.

Wiring harness... That sounds nasty. Is that something I can even check myself, or will I need professional help? And if it's only some loose connection...?

Checking the harness isn't difficult, but requires some electrical diagnostic skills. Inspect the cable and plug connection for any signs of damage or corrosion. If you're not comfortable, I would suggest visiting a reputable workshop as it is most likely a defective cable or connection.

Thanks a lot! I took it to the garage and you were spot on – dodgy connection. Cost me 95€ to sort, so not too bad. Appreciate the help!

I had something similar happen on my Move. Overheating and a dodgy fan, you say? Almost certainly a fan motor issue or the wiring harness is fried. First check if it spins freely.
