Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I did give the wiring harness and connector a visual inspection. Didn't see anything obvious like frayed wires or corrosion, but I might not be looking closely enough. Were your symptoms similar, especially the whistling sound?

Indeed, the whistling sound was also present in my case. The faulty sensor reading might cause the system to compensate in a way that generates that noise. Given the symptoms and the error code, and the fact that you've already checked the basics, it might be best to have a workshop take a closer look. They'll have the tools and expertise to diagnose the issue more precisely.

Thanks a lot for your help and advice! I took it to a local mechanic, and you were spot on. It turned out to be a corroded connector on the charge air temperature sensor. They cleaned it up and replaced a short section of the wiring, and the car is running perfectly again. Total cost was 95€ Appreciate the insight!

Greetings, I had a similar issue with my MR2, although I don't recall the exact error code. The charge air temperature sensor, also known as the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor, is responsible for measuring the temperature of the air entering the engine. This information is crucial for the engine control unit (ECU) to calculate the correct air-fuel mixture. When this sensor malfunctions, the ECU may not be able to optimize the engine's performance, leading to reduced power and potentially other issues. Did you check the wiring harness and connector for any signs of damage, corrosion, or loose connections?
