MR2 Fault Code After Chip Tuning

Hey, I've got a 2001 Toyota MR2 with a gasoline engine that's throwing a fault code. I'm noticing reduced engine power and the error is stored in the error memory. Has anyone experienced similar issues? Mileage is at 68488 km. I suspect it might be related to some chip tuning done by a third-party provider.

Interesting... I own an MR2 as well, though not the same year. Were you getting this check engine light right after the chip tuning? Could be a dodgy remap causing the car computer to freak out.

That's what I'm thinking too. Yes, it started happening shortly after the tuning. Was your issue exactly the same, regarding the reduced engine power? How did you fix it in the end?

Pretty similar symptoms, yeah. I ended up taking it to a workshop. They said that the chip tuning was indeed the cause, and I wasn't comfortable messing with the car's computer myself. Best to get it looked at by pros, I reckon.

Thanks for the info! I took it to a local mechanic, and as you suggested, it was due to the faulty chip tuning. They had to re-tune it. Total cost was 180€. Appreciate the help!
