MR2 Rail Pressure Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Toyota MR2 owner experienced a check engine light, engine stalling at idle, and reduced power, with a diagnostic error indicating a faulty rail pressure sensor. The issue was resolved by replacing the fuel rail pressure sensor, which restored normal engine function. It was advised to consult a workshop to confirm the diagnosis, as wiring issues could also be a potential cause.

Yes, the error code definitely pointed to the fuel rail pressure sensor. Did you replace yours? And did that fix it?

Yeah, it was the fuel rail pressure sensor for me too. Replacing it sorted out all the issues. Honestly, though, I'd recommend getting it checked out by a workshop to be 100% sure before you start replacing parts. Could be a wiring issue or something.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were right – it was the fuel rail pressure sensor. Replaced it and now everything is running smoothly again. Cost me about 240€, including labor.

Hey, I had a similar issue with my MR2. Check engine light, stalling, the whole nine yards. Was the error specifically pointing to the fuel rail pressure sensor?
