MR2 Stalling Due to Fuel Composition Error

My 2007 Toyota MR2 with a gasoline engine is stalling at idle and the check engine light is on, showing an incorrect fuel composition error. Could this be bad fuel, a fuel system issue, or a clogged fuel filter? I recently filled up at a station I don't usually use.

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my older Opel Corsa after using a different gas station. Could be a defective cable or plug connection to some component. Have you checked those?

When you mention cable or plug connection, are you referring to any specific component within the fuel system? I don't want to make things worse.

In my case it was the sensor measuring the fuel pressure. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop, they should be able to diagnose it quickly. Saved me a lot of headache.

I took it to a technician and a defective cable connection was indeed the cause of the incorrect fuel composition error. The repair cost 95€.
