Multi electronic handbrake failure

My 2002 Nissan Multi with a gasoline engine is throwing me for a loop. The electronic handbrake is completely dead. The error memory is lit up, and the warning light on the speedometer is mocking me. Anyone else had this happen?

Sounds familiar. I've got a Multi as well, and had something similar going on. Is it throwing any specific codes? Have you checked the brake switch or any of the sensors?

Codes? I don't have any way to read those myself. And I'm not really sure where those sensors are located on this thing. Anything specific I should be looking for?

Okay, without the codes it's tougher, but based on your description, it really sounds like the electric motor in the brake caliper has given up. I ended up taking mine to a workshop, and they confirmed it. Cost me around 500€ to get it sorted.

Ugh, sounds like my worst fear confirmed. Thanks for the info. I'll bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. At least I have an idea what to expect. Wish me luck!
