Multifunction Steering Wheel Issue on Mercedes Viano

My 2009 Mercedes Viano with a diesel engine is showing a malfunction indicator for the multifunction steering wheel. The steering controls aren't working. I scanned for errors, and there's something stored in the error memory. Could it be a sensor issue?

That sounds annoying! I had something similar happen. Have you checked the fuses? It might be that before it gets too complicated.

Good call on the fuses! I'll check them. If the fuses are fine, any other ideas? I'm trying to figure out if it's something I can handle myself before going to a workshop.

Yeah, could be a faulty connection somewhere? I’m no expert, but it sounds like it could be tricky to fix yourself. I’d probably get it checked by someone who knows what they're doing.

Took it to a shop. The cable connection in the steering wheel was defective, just as thought. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Thanks for the advice!
