Multiple Error Messages Plague Audi A5 Systems

My 2022 Audi A5 2.0T is showing multiple error messages, both in the infotainment display and instrument cluster. The check engine light also came on recently. Has anyone experienced something similar? Getting concerned since these warnings appeared simultaneously. Looking to hear from other A5 owners who had this issue fixed, particularly what the scan tool revealed and if it required a control module reset or more extensive repairs. Want to have some idea before taking it to service.

As someone with moderate experience working on Audis, I dealt with a similar situation on my 2020 Audi A4 2.0T last year. Multiple warning messages appeared suddenly, including the malfunction indicator light. Initially thought it was a serious mechanical issue, but it turned out to be much simpler. After taking it to the workshop, they connected their diagnostic scanner and found that the vehicle coding was incorrect, likely due to a software update that didnt complete properly. The OBD-II scan revealed multiple communication errors between control modules. The solution required a complete reset of the codes and proper recoding of the vehicle systems. The repair took about 2 hours and cost 360 Euro, which included the diagnostic work and recoding. Since then, all systems have been working perfectly with no warning messages. To better assist with your situation, could you share: When did these warnings first appear? Were there any recent dealer visits or software updates? Are there any specific error messages you can read? Does the car drive differently since these warnings appeared? This would help determine if youre dealing with a similar coding issue or something else entirely.

Thanks for the detailed response. My vehicle has 31074 KM and had its last service just 2 months ago. The engine light and warnings started appearing right after a rainy day last week. The car drives normally, but Im worried about potential electrical issues. The scan tool at a local shop showed multiple communication errors, but they werent confident about diagnosing it without specialized Audi equipment. Thinking about getting engine diagnostics done at a certified shop for a proper OBD-II reading, even though that means paying more for the diagnosis.

Based on your description and my experience with a similar issue on my A4, the timing of these errors appearing after rain is significant. While my situation was software-related, water exposure can sometimes trigger multiple fault codes and communication errors between control modules. The diagnostic scanner readings from the local shop align with what I initially saw, multiple communication errors. However, in your case, the correlation with rain suggests possible water intrusion affecting the electrical connections or control module. This is different from my coding issue, despite showing similar symptoms. Since your car is relatively new with only 31074 KM, Id strongly recommend getting it checked at a place with proper diagnostic equipment. When my control module issues occurred, generic scan tools could detect the errors but couldnt properly interface with all vehicle systems. The specialized equipment used for my repair could pinpoint exactly which module was causing the cascade of error messages. The engine light combined with multiple system warnings usually indicates a central communication issue rather than individual component failures. While my fix required recoding, yours might need inspection of wiring connections and control module seals, especially given the rain correlation. A proper diagnosis with manufacturer-specific equipment is worth the investment to avoid misdiagnosis and unnecessary parts replacement. The malfunction indicator might clear itself if the issue was temporary water exposure, but its better to verify all systems are functioning correctly.

Thanks for the input. I called the Audi service center and scheduled an appointment for next week. After reading about similar experiences, Im now less worried that its a major mechanical issue and more convinced its related to either water exposure or a control module communication problem. The fault codes from the local shop gave some insight, but Im glad I waited for proper diagnostics instead of attempting fixes based on incomplete scan tool data. Will report back once I get the official diagnosis. Really hoping its just a matter of drying out and resetting the systems, similar to what others experienced, rather than having to replace any expensive control modules. Main concern now is the 460 Euro diagnostic fee, but better to get it properly checked while the check engine light and other warnings are active so they can capture all the error messages. At least the car is driving normally in the meantime.
