Murano diesel rough running

Hi, I have a 2015 Nissan Murano diesel with only 32292 km on the clock. Recently, it's been running really rough. It starts poorly, the fuel consumption seems higher than usual, and the engine just doesn't have the same power. Also, the idling is uneven, sometimes the engine even stalls. I've checked the air filter and some basic things, but I'm not sure what else to look at. Could it be bad gasoline?

Rough idling and stalling on a diesel Murano? Those are not good signs! Have you noticed any black smoke coming from the exhaust? And when was the last time you had the fuel filter changed? It almost sounds like a misfire issue. You might want to check your injection system, maybe one or more injection nozzles may be defective.

Thanks for the quick reply! No black smoke that I've noticed, and I honestly can't remember the last time the fuel filter was changed, so it's probably overdue. What makes you suspect the injection nozzles? Is there any way to check them myself, or is that best left to a professional?

The symptoms you described, especially the poor starting, higher fuel consumption, and stalling, point to a potential issue with fuel delivery. If the injection valve dirty, it can cause all sorts of problems. You could try some fuel injector cleaner, but honestly, with those symptoms, you're probably better off taking it to a workshop. They can diagnose which nozzle is defective and replace it or clean it properly. It's a delicate job.

Okay, thanks a lot for the advice. I took it to a local mechanic, and they confirmed that one of the injection nozzles was defective, likely due to dirt. They replaced it, and the car is running like new again. The repair cost 515€, but it was worth it to get rid of the headache!
