Interesting! No, I haven't specifically checked the AC control unit. I was leaning towards a temperature sensor issue since the error message seemed related. Where is the AC control unit located, and is it something I can easily test myself, or do I need special tools?

Honestly, on my BMW it was buried pretty deep, and diagnosing it properly required some specialized diagnostic tools. Given your symptoms, and my past experience, I'd strongly suggest taking it to a trusted workshop. Could save you a lot of time and potential headaches. You could try checking the fuses first, though!

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on. Turns out the temperature sensor in the heat exchanger was defective, which led to the AC control unit going haywire. Repair cost me about 980€, but at least it's fixed. Appreciate the help!

Sounds frustrating! I had something similar happen with my old BMW. The symptoms were almost identical. Turned out to be a faulty AC control unit causing all sorts of havoc. Have you checked that?
