Murano reduced engine power
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Nissan Murano with 116,551 km experienced reduced engine power and a check engine light, suspected to be due to a defective throttle valve. Possible causes included a faulty accelerator pedal module or throttle sensor, potentially affecting air flow and fuel efficiency. The solution involved diagnosing the issue at a workshop, confirming the defective throttle valve, and replacing it, which resolved the problem.

Thanks for the reply. Fuel efficiency does seem to be slightly worse, but I haven't checked the air intake yet. Could a faulty throttle sensor cause both reduced power and a drop in fuel efficiency?

Indeed. A defective throttle valve can negatively impact engine performance and fuel consumption. Considering the symptoms, a visit to a workshop for diagnosis seems advisable. Replacement of the throttle body, if needed, should resolve it.

Alright, I appreciate the confirmation. Took it to the workshop and, as suspected, the throttle valve was defective. The replacement cost 265€. Runs like new again!

It's plausible that the accelerator pedal module or the throttle sensor itself is faulty, leading to reduced air flow. Has there been any impact on fuel efficiency alongside the check engine light? Also, is the air intake unobstructed?
