Murano tire pressure ABS and steering issues

I'm getting super frustrated with my 2017 Nissan Murano (gasoline engine). I've got 100792 km on it, and the tire pressure low warning keeps popping up. I've inflated the tires, but the light is still there, and now the ABS lamp lights up too! Plus, the steering wheel is vibrating like crazy, and it's getting harder to steer. Feels like the power steering is failing! Could it be a punctured tire or maybe just a bad tire sensor messing things up?

Summary of the thread

A 2017 Nissan Murano owner experienced persistent tire pressure warnings, ABS light activation, and severe steering wheel vibrations, suggesting potential power steering failure. The issues were suspected to be caused by a punctured tire or a faulty tire sensor. Upon inspection, a defective tire valve was identified as the root cause, leading to a slow leak and sensor malfunctions. Replacing the valve resolved the problems, eliminating warning lights and restoring normal steering function.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I have a Murano too. While I haven't experienced the ABS and steering issues alongside it, I did have a similar problem with the tire pressure warning staying on even after inflating the tires. Did you check the tire itself for any signs of damage?

Yeah, I checked for punctures and didn't see anything obvious. The pressure loss seems really slow. Could it be a faulty valve or something inside the tire causing the pressure to leak? I'm just trying to avoid taking it to the shop if it's something simple I can fix myself.

It's possible that the valve is defective, leading to a slow leak. Given the additional issues you're experiencing with the ABS and steering, I would strongly recommend taking it to a workshop. These systems are interconnected, and a seemingly simple tire issue could be masking a more serious problem.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were right. Turns out a valve in the tire was defective, causing the slow leak and messing with the sensors. They replaced the valve, and the total cost was 280€. Everything is working fine now, no more warning lights or shaking!
