Mustang boost pressure malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Ford Mustang is experiencing issues with boost pressure, indicated by a check engine light, reduced power, poor response, occasional stalling, increased fuel consumption, and a whistle and hiss during acceleration. Potential causes include problems with the turbocharger, throttle body, or MAP sensor. A similar case suggested the wastegate valve as the culprit, prompting a recommendation for professional diagnosis and repair.

Thanks. I did observe some turbo lag now and then. Anything else you noticed that might be connected?

Yeah, the lag was the first sign for me. Then the hissing got really bad. Eventually, I took it in and they said it was the wastegate valve. Get it checked!

I appreciate the insight. It does seem like the wastegate valve may be the source of the problem. I will schedule an appointment for a professional diagnosis and repair. The estimated cost is around 860€. Thanks again.

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had something similar happen with my Mustang. Did you notice any turbo lag before all this started?
