Mustang brake light failure

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2005 Ford Mustang (gasoline engine). It's showing a brake light failure and throwing an error message on the infotainment system. When I hooked it up to a scanner, it shows an error stored in the error memory related to the brake light switch. I've checked the bulbs and wiring, but everything seems fine. Any thoughts?

I had something similar happen in my Mustang. Is the error code specifically pointing to the brake switch itself?

Yes, the scanner is directly referencing the brake light switch. I found a guide for testing it with a multimeter. Did the error code you saw indicate user error by any chance?

Yep, same thing. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They should be able to diagnose it properly.

Thanks! Turns out it was exactly how you described. I took it to the dealer and they re-calibrated the switch -- the error was caused by the user accidentally triggering the system. Cost me nothing. Appreciate the help!
