Mustang Mach-E Multifunction Steering Wheel Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E owner reported a complete failure of the multifunction steering wheel, with none of the buttons working and an error code indicating a fault with the steering controls. The suspected cause was a cable connection issue within the steering wheel. Another owner suggested checking the connector under the steering column for a loose connection. Ultimately, the problem was confirmed to be a defective cable connection in the steering wheel, which was resolved at a repair shop.

Thanks for the tip! I'll check the connector under the steering column. To answer your question, it's completely dead - no response whatsoever from any of the buttons. Do you recall if your error message was specific to the steering wheel, or just a general electrical fault?

Yeah, mine was a little erratic at first, then totally dead, and the error code pointed right to the multifunction steering wheel control module. Given yours is completely unresponsive, and you've got an error code, it's probably the same thing. It might just be a bad connection, but honestly, it sounds like a trip to the workshop is in order to properly diagnose it.

Appreciate the confirmation. I suspected that might be the case. Took it to the shop and they found a defective cable connection in the steering wheel, just as you predicted. Repair cost me 95€. Thanks again for the help!

I've got a Mach-E too, though not sure the year makes a difference for this... I had something similar happen a while back. Steering controls went haywire. I'd suggest first just wiggling the connector under the steering column – might be a loose connection. Is it completely dead or glitching?
