Mustang Temperature Sensor Issue

The temperature gauge seems normal, and I haven't observed any coolant leaks. As for the auxiliary fan, I will need to check that more closely. However, if the air conditioning control unit is faulty, could it still trigger these specific errors, even without obvious signs of overheating or leakage?

Yes, it's entirely possible. A defective A/C control unit can certainly cause those errors, especially if it's misreporting temperature readings from the heat exchanger. Given the stored error codes and the A/C failing to switch on, it strongly suggests a problem within that system. I'd advise taking it to a qualified workshop for a proper diagnosis. Expect a repair bill around 980€.

Thank you for your insight. I appreciate your expertise on this matter. I took it to the workshop, and it turned out to be exactly as you suspected: a defective temperature sensor in the heat exchanger. The air conditioning control unit was indeed the root cause. Your advice was spot on!

Interesting. Those symptoms do point towards a cooling system issue. Does the engine temperature gauge read normally, or does it fluctuate wildly? Is there any sign of coolant leakage around the heat exchanger or anywhere else in the engine bay? Perhaps, is the auxiliary fan running constantly, even when the engine is cold?
