Nemo Diesel Fuel Pressure Sensor Issue

My 2007 Citroen Nemo diesel has a rough engine and stalling issues. The check engine light is on. It has 172884 km. Acceleration is jerky and idling is difficult. I suspect the fuel pressure sensor or a defective plug connection. Has anyone experienced this?

I had similar symptoms on my old Opel Astra petrol. Check engine light, rough engine, and stalling. You might be right about the fuel pressure sensor. Before replacing it, check the wiring and plug connection. My Astra had a corroded and loose plug causing intermittent readings. Wiggle it, clean with electrical contact cleaner, and see if it helps. Also check for broken wires. It's a cheap fix.

Thanks for the reply. Can you elaborate on how you identified the corroded/loose connection on your Opel Astra? Did you use special tools? I'm not experienced and worried about breaking something.

It was obvious once I looked closely. The connector had green corrosion on the metal contacts and didn't feel snug. I carefully pulled the connector off, sprayed electrical contact cleaner, and used a small brush to gently clean the contacts. Then, I made sure the connector clicked in firmly when plugged back in. If you're not comfortable, take it to a trusted mechanic. A faulty fuel pressure sensor can cause issues and could affect your fuel injector or fuel pump. Better safe than sorry.

I took my Nemo to a workshop. They diagnosed a defective fuel pressure sensor. They checked the cable and plug connection like you suggested. You were right! That was the issue. It was fixed and the sensor replaced. The total repair cost was 95€, much less than I feared.
