Nemo Gearbox Slipping
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Citroen Nemo diesel is experiencing gearbox issues, described as slipping and not shifting smoothly. The problem might be related to transfer case oil wear faults, as suggested by online research. A possible cause could be low or degraded transfer fluid, which should be checked. It is recommended to have a professional inspect the vehicle, as accessing the transfer case can be challenging without the right tools, and improper handling could worsen the issue.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Thanks for the reply! I haven't checked the fluid yet, to be honest. I'm not that mechanically minded, but I'll try to take a look tomorrow. Where exactly is the transfer case located on these things? Is it easy to access?

Best not to mess if you are unsure. I remember fiddling around and almost made it worse. Honestly, the transfer case is a bit of a pain to get to without the right tools. Based on your symptoms, it does sound like the transfer case, and potentially even some gear wear. I'd advise popping into a workshop for a proper check, before you make it worse. I ended up needing a new transfer case and defective gears, which was about 330€ all in!

Okay, cheers for the advice! Sounds like I'm best leaving it to the pros. I'll book it in for a check-up and mention the transfer case issue. Hopefully, it's not too expensive to fix. Thanks again!

I had similar issues with my Nemo (can't remember the exact year). Gearbox felt like stirring treacle. Did you check the transfer fluid? If it's low or looks like sludge, that could definitely be the problem. How many miles have you done since the last fluid change?
