Nemo Overheating Coolant Loss
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Citroen Nemo diesel is experiencing overheating, coolant loss, and a check engine light. The owner suspects a defective cable or plug, possibly related to a CAN bus issue or faulty ECU, causing communication faults in the control systems. A suggestion to check the thermostat, water pump, and sensors was made, but the problem was ultimately identified as a faulty connection, which was resolved at a workshop.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I've checked the thermostat and the water pump seems fine. I'm leaning towards a CAN bus issue or a faulty ECU. What were the specifics of your experience? Did the car diagnostics show anything?

I didn't dive too deep into the diagnostics myself. I took it straight to a workshop. They mentioned a faulty connection causing the communication error. It's probably best to get it professionally diagnosed to pinpoint the exact problem.

I followed your advice and took it to a workshop. It was a defective connection, like you suspected. Repair cost was 95€. Thanks again!

I had a similar issue with my Nemo a while back. Same symptoms: overheating and coolant loss. Have you checked the thermostat and water pump? A faulty sensor could also be sending incorrect data to the control unit.
