Nemo tire pressure ABS and steering issues

I'm experiencing a strange issue with my 2014 Citroen Nemo diesel. The tire pressure warning light is on, but the ABS lamp lights up intermittently. More worryingly, the steering wheel vibrates, and it feels like increased effort is required when steering, suggesting power steering issues. The mileage is currently at 26018 km. I've checked the tire pressures and they seem okay. Could it be a faulty tire sensor, or possibly a punctured tire that I'm not detecting? Any insights?

Summary of the thread

A 2014 Citroen Nemo diesel is experiencing issues with the tire pressure warning light, intermittent ABS lamp activation, and steering wheel vibrations, suggesting potential power steering problems. Despite checking tire pressures, the problem persists, leading to speculation about a faulty tire sensor or undetected puncture. A suggestion to inspect the tire valve revealed a defective valve causing slow leaks, which was confirmed and resolved at a workshop.

I had a similar problem with my Nemo. The low tire pressure light, ABS acting up, and the weird steering feel – it sounds very familiar. Did you happen to check the tire valve itself? Sometimes they can be defective, causing slow leaks that are hard to detect.

Thanks for the quick response! I hadn't considered the valve itself. When you say defective, do you mean it was visibly damaged, or was it something internal that you couldn't see? Was it only one tire causing the issue, or multiple?

In my case, it wasn't visibly damaged. It was leaking very slowly, so the pressure drop wasn't immediately obvious. Difficult to find. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to get the valves properly checked. If that's the issue, replacing them should fix the problem.

Thanks for the advice! I took your suggestion and brought it to a workshop. You were spot on – it was indeed a defective valve in one of the tires. The total repair cost came to 280€. Appreciate the help; I would have been chasing ghosts otherwise!
