Nissan 350Z check engine light air valve issue
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Nissan 350Z owner experienced a recurring check engine light issue, suspecting a problem with the air valve. A suggestion was made to inspect the hoses connected to the air intake and valve for damage or loose connections. Upon further investigation by a mechanic, a defective hose connection from the pump to the air valve was identified as the cause, and the issue was resolved.

Thanks for the tip! Which specific hoses on your Volvo were causing the problem? Any chance it's the same culprit on my Z?

On the Volvo, it was the hose running from the pump to the air valve itself. I'd definitely give all those a really close look, but honestly, if you're not super familiar with vacuum systems, you may want to get a workshop to take a look.

You were spot on! Took it to a mechanic, and it was indeed a defective hose connection from the pump to the air valve. Repair cost me 175€ Thanks for the helpful advice!

I had something similar happen with my old Volvo. It turned out to be a cracked vacuum hose causing all sorts of idle problems and triggering the check engine light. Have you checked all the hoses connected to the air intake and valve for any signs of damage or loose connections?
