Nissan Caravan Oil Pressure Warning
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Nissan Caravan owner is experiencing frequent speedometer and oil pressure warning lights, with the engine oil appearing darker than expected at 42,156 kilometers. The issue is suspected to be due to oil sludge or contamination from delayed maintenance. A mechanic confirmed the oil contamination and recommended an oil change and filter replacement to resolve the low oil pressure issue. The owner plans to adhere to the maintenance schedule to prevent future problems.

Did your vehicle show early oil degradation, like the strange oil color I'm seeing? What made your oil pressure light come on? I'm worried about engine damage.

Well, I'm not sure about the oil color. I just topped up the oil and it was fine again. But I think it's better to get it checked at a workshop, just to be safe.

I took your advice and saw a mechanic. They confirmed my fears: I waited too long for maintenance, and the oil is contaminated, causing low oil pressure. An oil change and filter replacement will cost about 165€. I'll stick to the maintenance schedule from now on.

I also have a Nissan Caravan. I remember that once the oil pressure light came on in my car too. I'm no expert, but I would check the oil level first.
