Nissan Clipper Electric Steering Fault
Summary of the thread
The electric steering column adjustment on a 2012 Nissan Clipper stopped working, showing a fault in the error memory. The issue was likely due to an electrical problem, specifically a faulty connector. It was suggested to inspect cable and plug connections for any loose wires, corrosion, or damage. Ultimately, a workshop confirmed the problem was indeed a faulty connector, which was replaced, resolving the issue.

Thanks! When you say 'relevant cable and plug connections,' are there specific areas I should focus on? Is there a common weak point in the wiring loom, or a particular connector that's known to cause trouble? I don't want to pull apart the whole dashboard if I can avoid it. Any pointers?

Proceed with caution. Given the error code and non-functional system, a thorough inspection by a qualified technician is advisable. While inspecting connections is sound advice, attempting repairs without the proper diagnostic tools and expertise could exacerbate the problem or damage other components. It's like a leaky faucet – you can try tightening the connections yourself, but sometimes it's best to call a plumber before you flood the bathroom.

Thanks again. Took it to a workshop, and you were spot on - it was a faulty connector as predicted. New connector fitted, error cleared, and all working again. Cost me 95€, so not too bad. I appreciate the help!

A defective electric steering column adjustment on a Nissan Clipper is concerning. The symptoms suggest an electrical issue. Before escalating, examine the cable and plug connections associated with the steering column adjustment mechanism. Like diagnosing a faulty light switch, a loose wire can cause the system to fail. Check for corrosion, damage, or loose connections.
