Nissan Clipper engine wont start
Summary of the thread
The 2014 Nissan Clipper's engine wouldn't start, despite the lights and radio functioning, suggesting the battery wasn't flat. The issue was identified as loose and corroded battery cable connections. After inspecting and addressing these connections, the problem was resolved by a mechanic, restoring the car's functionality.

Thanks! I will check the battery cable connections. When you say "wiggle", do you mean to physically move or try to tighten them? Or is there a better way to inspect them? I'm nervous about causing further damage, like short circuiting anything.

Yeah, carefully try to wiggle them and see if they're loose. If they are, try tightening them a bit, but don't overtighten! If they look corroded, you can try cleaning them with a wire brush. But honestly, if you're not comfortable, it's probably best to take it to a workshop. They'll be able to diagnose the problem properly and fix it.

Thanks for the advice. I inspected the battery cable connections, and they were quite loose and corroded. I went to a local mechanic, who cleaned and properly tightened the connections. That was the whole problem! The car is running smoothly again, and the repair cost me about 155€. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra, though it was a diesel. Engine wouldn't start, but the electrics were fine. Have you checked the battery cable connections? They might look okay, but corrosion or a loose connection can cause weird issues. Give them a wiggle and see if anything changes. Just be careful!
