Nissan Cube Ignition Problems
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Nissan Cube diesel with 45003 km is experiencing starting issues, engine stalling, and rough running. The problem is suspected to be related to the ignition system, specifically the ignition switch. After checking the fuses and confirming normal dashboard lights and starter motor engagement, it is suggested to have the ignition switch inspected. The issue is resolved by replacing the faulty ignition switch at a workshop.

The dashboard light is normal when the key is on. And yes, I hear a 'click' when I try to start it. Does that mean it's the ignition switch?

Hearing the click means the starter motor is engaging. Dashboard lights working suggests the main power is okay. But the starting, stalling, and rough running point to problems in the ignition circuit, which the ignition switch controls. I'd get the ignition switch checked at a workshop; it might need replacing. It can cause serious starting issues.

I took it to a workshop, and they found the ignition switch was the problem and replaced it. The repair cost 52€. Thanks for the help!

I had a similar issue with my Cube. Sounds like a faulty ignition switch. When it messes up, does the dashboard light up normally, or does it flicker? Does the starter motor engage when you turn the key, can you hear the 'click'?
