Nissan Cube Intake Manifold Flap Issue

I'm having issues with my 2018 Nissan Cube diesel. It's only done 31492 km. I've got seriously reduced engine power, the engine's running rough, and it feels like it's jerking when I accelerate. Plus, there's a loud hissing sound when I put my foot down, and my fuel consumption has gone through the roof! It seems like it could be an intake manifold flap control problem, maybe the switch is defective? Anyone else had similar issues?

Sounds familiar. I had something like that with my Cube – not sure about the year being the same. Reduced power and rough running… Could be the manifold flap. Those flaps control the airflow into the engine, especially at lower speeds, and if they're not working right, you'll get issues. Is it throwing any error codes?

Error codes? Yeah, it's showing a P2004 code – Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open (Bank 1). So, you reckon it's definitely the intake manifold flap then? How did you fix it? Was it a pain to sort out?

P2004 points straight to the intake manifold flap. If it's stuck open, it will mess with the airflow. I ended up taking mine to a workshop. It needed a new intake manifold control unit which fixed it. They will check if it's just a vacuum leak or if the motor of the flap is broken.

Okay, thanks for the info! Sounds like I'm heading to the workshop then. I was hoping it would be something simple, but a new intake manifold control unit sounds like a job for the pros. I'll post the outcome. It cost me 465€ in the end but the car is like new!
