Nissan Cube Terminal 30 Error

My 2018 Nissan Cube with a gasoline engine is giving me a 'Terminal 30 continuous plus interrupted' error. The car is starting poorly, like it's got a dead or dying battery. The battery tests fine, and the alternator seems to be charging okay. I suspect a short or parasitic draw somewhere. The car has 114720 km. Anyone run into something like this? I'm guessing I have an electrical fault and it may be related to the circuit breaker somewhere. Thoughts?

Summary of the thread

A 2018 Nissan Cube is experiencing a 'Terminal 30 continuous plus interrupted' error, leading to poor starting performance similar to a dead battery. Despite the battery and alternator testing fine, the issue is suspected to be an electrical fault, possibly a short or parasitic draw. A fellow owner suggested checking for voltage drop across the main fuses, which revealed a faulty connection within the fuse box causing the problem. The solution involved replacing some wiring and the circuit breaker, resolving the parasitic draw issue.

Cube owner here, too. I had similar symptoms a while back – slow starts, acting like the battery was toast. Did you check for voltage drop across the main fuses? That was the culprit for me. My issue would happen randomly, so testing was tricky. Is it throwing any other codes?

Voltage drop across the main fuses, huh? Interesting. I haven't checked that specifically, I'll add it to my testing regime. Was it a specific fuse that was the issue, or just a general problem in the fuse box? And were there any other electrical gremlins popping up at the same time, like flickering lights or anything?

Yeah, it was a pain to track down. For me, it turned out to be related to a faulty connection within the fuse box itself. Nothing was visibly corroded or loose, but there was enough resistance to cause that voltage drop and eventually drain the battery when the car sat for a while. No other symptoms than slow starts. Honestly, I’d take it to a reliable workshop. Those electrical issues can be a nightmare to diagnose.

Appreciate the insight! Voltage drop across the fuses hadn't even crossed my mind. I took it to the shop, and you were spot on – fuse box issue causing a parasitic draw! They replaced some wiring and the circuit breaker, and gave me a new battery since mine was heavily discharged. Total cost: 290€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
