Nissan Cube torque converter issue

My 2009 Nissan Cube, gasoline engine, with only 46836 km, has the check engine and transmission lights on. Gear shifts are rough, and there are grinding noises. Error memory suggests a defective torque converter lock-up clutch. Anyone else had this?

Hey, that sounds rough. I have a Cube as well. I had similar symptoms not too long ago – slipping and the lights. How sure are you about the converter?

Thanks. The diagnostic points strongly towards the torque converter. Were your symptoms exactly the same, and did the error codes also point to the converter? Trying to avoid unnecessary repairs.

Yeah, pretty much identical. Codes pointed to the torque converter lock-up clutch. Honestly, given the symptoms, I'd get it checked by a reputable workshop. It's probably best to confirm the issue before throwing parts at it.

I appreciate the confirmation. I've taken it to my mechanic. Diagnosis confirmed: automatic transmission converter defective. Repair cost is 2120€. Thanks again for sharing your experience; it provided valuable insight.
