Nissan Dayz Knocking Combustion

My 2014 Nissan Dayz with a gasoline engine is experiencing knocking combustion. Symptoms include reduced engine power, jerking acceleration, smoke during acceleration, and a stored error code. I suspect it might be deposits in the combustion chamber. Any ideas?

Sounds similar to what happened with my old Opel Astra. Same symptoms - jerking, loss of power, and smoke. Turned out to be detonation. Was it worse when the engine was cold?

Yes, the knocking and jerking are definitely more pronounced when the engine is cold. What did you end up doing about it?

For me it kept getting worse. I tried a bunch of fuel additives but eventually had to take it to a workshop. They confirmed that there were deposits in the combustion chamber. Get it checked out before it gets worse.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to the workshop, and they found deposits in the combustion chamber, just as you suspected. Repair cost was 425€. Problem solved.
