Nissan Evalia running lean
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Nissan Evalia was experiencing issues such as reduced engine power, a check engine light, rough running, and jerking during acceleration, indicating a lean running condition. The initial suspicion was a defective fuel injector. Another owner suggested checking for vacuum leaks in the intake manifold as a potential cause. Ultimately, the problem was confirmed to be defective fuel injectors, which were replaced to resolve the issue.

Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't checked for vacuum leaks yet. Where exactly on the intake manifold should I be looking, and how would I identify a leak? Is there a common spot on the Evalia that's prone to leaking?

I'm not sure about common spots on the Evalia, but my mechanic found a small crack in a hose connected to the intake manifold. Honestly, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop; they have smoke testing equipment to find these tricky leaks quickly. Could save you a lot of time and frustration.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop, and you were right, it was the fuel injectors. After replacing the defective injectors, the problem is resolved. Total cost was 515€. I appreciate your help!

I also have a Nissan Evalia, and your symptoms sound familiar. When the air-fuel ratio is off, it often triggers the check engine light. Before jumping to fuel injectors, have you checked for any vacuum leaks in the intake manifold? A leak can cause a lean condition.
