Nissan Juke Hybrid Error Messages

My 2023 Nissan Juke Hybrid is throwing up errors. Getting an error message on the speedometer, lights are weak and flicker sometimes, and there's an error stored. Starts weakly too. Mileage is 155247 km. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

A 2023 Nissan Juke Hybrid is experiencing error messages on the speedometer, weak and flickering lights, and weak starts, with an error stored. These symptoms suggest potential voltage problems, possibly due to a discharging battery, a faulty electrical system component, or a defective battery sensor. After checking and cleaning the battery terminals, the issue persisted, leading to a workshop diagnosis of a defective battery sensor, which required repair.

That sounds eerily familiar. I had almost identical symptoms with my 2018 BMW 330e a while back. The error message in the speedometer is a typical sign of voltage problems. Weak or flickering lights and a weak battery at startup are also telltale signs of a discharging battery or a faulty electrical system component. Do you notice if it happens more frequently after short trips, or if the car has been sitting for a while? Have you checked the battery terminals for corrosion or looseness? That's always the first thing to check, because it's the easiest fix.

Cheers. I'll check terminals tomorrow. You mention 'discharging battery', what exactly do you mean?

Apologies for the jargon. By 'discharging battery', I mean the battery is losing its charge faster than it should when the car is off, or isn't being properly charged when the engine is running. This can be caused by a parasitic draw (something in the car constantly using power), a faulty alternator (which charges the battery while driving), or a defective battery itself. My BMW ended up needing a new battery sensor. Given the symptoms, I'd recommend getting it checked by a workshop if cleaning the battery terminals doesn't fix it. Ignoring it could lead to a complete battery failure, leaving you stranded.

Thanks for the detailed explanation! Cleaned the terminals, no dice. Workshop diagnosed a defective battery sensor - 315€ to repair. Cheers!
