Nissan Kix faulty accelerator pedal
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Nissan Kix with low mileage is experiencing poor fuel consumption and difficulty starting. The initial suspicion was a dirty air intake, but further investigation suggested a faulty throttle position sensor or accelerator pedal module. After taking the car to a shop, it was confirmed that the accelerator pedal module was defective, causing throttle issues. The repair resolved the problem, and the vehicle is now functioning well.

Throttle position sensor, eh? Interesting. Where is that thing even located on the Kix, and is it something I can easily check myself? I'm pretty handy, but I don't want to mess with anything too complicated.

Yeah, the TPS. On the Corsa, it was right on the throttle body. You can usually spot it pretty easy. Honestly, though, if you're not 100% confident, maybe just get a workshop to take a look. It could save you a bigger headache down the line! Mine was eventually traced to a defective accelerator pedal module. Just a thought!

Took the Kix to the shop. You were spot on! It was indeed a faulty accelerator pedal module causing the throttle valve to go nuts. The repair cost me 205€, but she's running like a dream now. Thanks for the tip!

That sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Corsa. It started guzzling fuel like crazy and turning over a lot before starting. Did you check the throttle position sensor? Mine was faulty. It wasn't throwing any codes at first, but it was definitely the culprit.
