Nissan Kix incorrect fuel composition error

I'm having a weird issue with my 2009 Nissan Kix, gasoline engine. The check engine light keeps popping up, and sometimes the engine stalls when I'm idling. I got the error codes read, and it's showing something about incorrect fuel composition. I've tried a fuel system cleaner, and even a higher octane fuel, but nothing seems to fix it. The car has almost 190000 km on it, so I'm wondering if it's just old age catching up. Any ideas what could be causing this? It feels like the engine isn't burning fuel right, like throwing wood into a fireplace but it's damp.

I had a similar issue with my Kix. Check the cable and plug connections to the fuel system components. A defective connection can cause those symptoms.

Thanks for the tip! Which specific cables and plugs should I be looking at? Are there any that are more likely to cause this specific 'incorrect fuel composition' error?

I wish I could tell you which one exactly, but I don't remember. The garage found it. I suggest you take it to a workshop; the error memory should give the mechanics enough information to narrow it down.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a mechanic, and you were spot on – it was a corroded connector on one of the fuel sensors. They cleaned it up and replaced a short section of the wire. Cost me 95€, but the car runs perfectly now! No more check engine light or stalling. Appreciate the help!
