Cheers for the reply! I haven't checked the refrigerant level myself, figured that's best left to the pros. As for the compressor clutch, I wouldn't even know where to begin looking for that thing! Where was the problem with your Peugeot?

No worries! Turns out, the Peugeot's AC control unit was fried. It was sending dodgy signals to the compressor, causing it to shut down. Honestly, with those symptoms and the error code, I'd get it checked out by a decent workshop. Saved me a load of time and messing about.

Took it to the garage, and you called it! The AC control unit was toast. 980€ lighter, but at least I have cold air again! Thanks for your help pointing me in the right direction; saved me a lot of pointless poking around.

Sounds familiar! Had a similar issue with my old Peugeot 308 a few years back. Same symptoms more or less, warning light and all. Did you check the refrigerant level, or if the compressor clutch is engaging? Could also be a faulty pressure sensor giving you grief.
