Nissan NV 2011 Experiencing Unusual Transmission Behavior and ABS Warning

Hey folks, I've got a concern with my 2011 Nissan NV, that's run about 199,153 KM all on gasoline. Lately, it's been acting up in some weird ways. My transmission's acting funky, shifting weirdly and it's been slipping. On top of that, the ABS warning light is on and I've been catching wind of some whining and grinding noises that I've never noticed before. In my gut, I feel this could be related to the Transfer case emergency running control going active. Anyone ride through something like this? Last trip to the mechanic turned bad and got me a bit skeptical about turning in again without some background. Just trying to get some knowledge or even second opinions before I give it another shot. Would love to hear how your similar issues were handled and how your experience with the mechanic was. Appreciate the help, looking forward to your responses!

Hey, So looks like you're dealing with some pretty nasty stuff. Some time ago, I went through a similar issue with my 2014 Nissan Frontier. Started with some odd shifts and the ABS light came out of nowhere. Strangest was the noise, a grinding sound, quite unnerving. Turned out, it was indeed a Consequential error in the Dynamic Stability Control, just like your suspicion. A real bugbear, but not a dealbreaker. My mechanic told me that this error could potentially mess up the whole system if left unchecked, so I'd say it's still a bit on the serious side of things. Going to a garage isn't always easy, I get it. But trust me, it's crucial. The important bit is getting a mechanic who knows their stuff - mine stripped the whole system, rechecked all the connections and bolts and whatnot. Gave it a good once-over. Sounds like you should do the same. Get it checked out properly and get it fixed up before it gets worse. You've done a good job clocking those miles, don't let it go to waste! Best of luck!

Hey there! Wow, your story sounds far too familiar! That certainly sounds like the same mess I'm in with my Nissan NV. Had a gut feeling it might be related to the Dynamic Stability Control. Hearing about your case has confirmed those suspicions. Just out of curiosity, what did the repair for this set you back? And since you got it fixed, have you run into any similar issues or has something else popped up? Really appreciate your input and sharing your story. Garages can be a real nightmare sometimes! Take care!

Hey, No worries, glad I could help out! In terms of costs, you'd be surprised. The whole shebang with fixing the Consequential error in the Dynamic Stability Control didn’t cost me a dime. I bet you're sitting there thinking, 'What?!', but I'm dead serious. Sometimes you just get lucky, eh? As for your second question, after I got it fixed up, there hasn’t been another problem related to this. Touch wood, the mystery noises and the funky shifts were gone after I saw the mechanic. Also, the Transfer case emergency running control hasn't been acting up since. Actually, everything's been running as smoothly as a freshly waxed surfboard. So, don't sweat it much! Hope that helps. Remember, better safe than sorry - it's your ride we're talking about, get it checked out! All the best!

Hey! You've a good fortune, getting yours fixed without shelling out a penny; that's a serious stroke of luck! Just fingers crossed that I find myself in a similar spot, eh? But honestly, your info's been a great relief to hear, especially knowing that the issue hasn’t reared its ugly head since. Gotta say, your story gives me a bit more faith in mechanics – sometimes they're not all that bad, huh? The garage already feels less daunting, all thanks to you! A huge thanks. I'll be getting my ride checked out ASAP, probably gonna give my old garage another chance! Take care.
