Nissan NV High Fuel Consumption and Stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Nissan NV with high fuel consumption and engine stalling issues was experiencing a check engine light and smoke during acceleration. The problem was suspected to be related to the mass air flow (MAF) sensor. After confirming the issue with a diagnostic code, the MAF sensor was replaced, resolving the problem.

Codes? You mean like error codes from a scanner? Yeah, I got a code pointing to the mass air flow sensor being defective. Is that what you're thinking too?

Yep, that's exactly what happened to me. If the scanner says it's the MAF, it probably is. I tried cleaning mine but it didn't help. Honestly, save yourself the trouble and just take it to a workshop. They'll replace it and you'll be back on the road in no time.

Thanks a bunch! So, I took your advice and went to the shop. Turns out the mass air flow sensor was indeed the culprit, just like we thought. Got it replaced for 365€. Appreciate the help!

Whoa, that sounds rough! I had something similar happen with my NV. High fuel consumption and engine stalling... sounds familiar. Was it throwing any codes related to the air intake?
