Nissan NV VANOS Issue

Hey, my 2012 Nissan NV with a gasoline engine is acting up. The check engine light is on, and it seems to be burning through gas quicker than usual. I'm thinking it might be the inlet VANOS - anyone have similar experiences or advice?

Okay, no misfires or power loss is good news. Checking the voltage at the solenoid isn't too difficult, but you'll need a multimeter. There are plenty of online guides showing how to backprobe the connector safely. But honestly, if you're not super comfortable with electrical testing, it might be best to have a shop take a quick look. They can diagnose it properly and save you a headache in the long run.
