Nissan Pino belt handover problem
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Nissan Pino is experiencing a belt handover problem, suspected to be caused by a defective belt bringer or handover mechanism. A suggestion was made that a faulty belt tensioner could be the cause, as it might not be keeping the belt tight enough, leading to handover issues. The problem was confirmed by a mechanic to be a defective belt tensioner, which was subsequently repaired.

I didn't mention any squealing but belt-handover no longer works. Could the tensioner pulley still be the cause? You mentioned noises on your Fiat. Did you also notice anything else?

Ah, right. No squealing in your case. Still, on my Fiat, the tensioner failing caused the belt to slip and not work correctly. If the tensioner isn't keeping the belt tight, it might cause handover issues as well. I'd get it checked at a workshop.

I appreciate your assistance! A local mechanic confirmed the belt tensioner was defective. The total repair cost came to 455€. Thank you again!

Sounds like a bad belt tensioner. I had a similar issue on my old Fiat. Was getting squealing noises and the belt seemed loose. Is the tensioner pulley wobbly or making any noise?
