Hey there, Thanks a ton for sharing your engine woes, sounds frustratingly familiar! Now down to brass tacks, how hard did that bugger of a sensor and his friends hit your wallet for the fix? Since then, any other sensor gremilns put you through the wringer? Gotta say, these sensor issues are driving me to my wit's end. Ridiculous how a tiny bit of tech can cause such mammoth issues, right? Looking forward to hearing back! Drive safe!

Hey, Sure doesn't take a lot to stir up chaos in that engine, does it? As for the damage to my bank account... well, let's just say I could have had quite a night out with that money! The little devil cost me around 240 big ones (that's Euro, ). Not exactly pocket change, but considering it put an end to all those issues, I reckon it was a solid investment. After I got the sensor replaced, no more gremlins giving me the runaround under the hood. Runs like a dream now, touch wood. My trusted mechanic did a killer job in fixing the misbehaving sensor. So, do get yours fixed soon. As they say, a stitch in time saves nine, right? Keep safe on those roads! Easy on the pedal!

Cheers for the quick reply, 240 Euro, huh? Definitely a few nights out missed, but I take your point. It's better to cough up now than deal with a bigger mess later. I appreciate your advice, putting my car's health before my night outs seems like a wise call indeed. Off to the mechanic's first thing tomorrow. Stay on the safe side and keep enjoying the smooth rides. Catch you around!

Hey, I totally feel your pain. Had a similar issue with my 2018 Nissan Rogue last summer. Me ol' beauty started acting up on me with similar signs - rattling, black smoke, and all that jazz. I also noticed worse fuel efficiency and the dreaded check engine light. Your suspicions might be spot on, it does sound like a pressure sensor issue. Turns out, my rail pressure sensor was indeed defective; causing all these annoyances. The little bugger was sending incorrect readings to the ECU which was causing the engine to behave wonky. The bad sensor made the car think it didn't have enough fuel pressure, so it was overcompensating by injecting more fuel than needed, hence the black smoke and poor MPG. My mechanics handled it like pros though. Took 'em a few hours to replace it and run some tests to make sure the new sensor was communicating the right stuff to the engine. Bit of a process to get to, but once they did, it was all smooth sailing. So, yeah, don't worry . Serious issue? Not really, but you defo wanna get it sorted ASAP to avoid further damage down the line. Better to nip it in the bud earlier than later. Get it inspected by a trusted mechanic, alright? Hope that helps. Safe driving!
