Nissan Quest no start
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Nissan Quest with a gasoline engine wouldn't start, and the engine light was on. The initial suspicion was an engine control malfunction, but the fuel injection seemed fine. A suggestion was made to check the battery cable connections, as loose connections can cause starting issues and trigger the engine light. After cleaning and tightening the battery cables, the vehicle started successfully.

Thanks! I'll definitely check the battery cable connections. When you had the issue, did the engine light come on as well? Was it completely dead, or did it try to crank at all?

Yep, engine light was on, mocking me the whole time! And no, it wouldn't even try to crank. Just silence. Honestly, after messing with it for a while, I ended up taking it to a workshop. Saved me a huge headache. If the battery cables aren't the problem, it might be something deeper. Best to get proper diagnostics done.

It was the battery cable connections! They looked fine, but were loose. Cleaning and tightening them got it started. Cost me 155€ in the end. Thanks for the advice!

Dude, I feel your pain! I had a similar issue with my Quest. Check your battery cable connections first. Seriously, even if they LOOK okay, give 'em a wiggle and make sure they're tight. A bad connection can cause all sorts of weird ECU issues and prevent the engine from starting. Before you dive into engine diagnostics, rule out the simple stuff!
