Nissan Winner Fuel Filter Heater Issue

Alright, I'm stumped. My 2006 Nissan Winner diesel is acting up. I'm getting an error code related to the fuel filter heater, and it's like the engine is choking. I've got reduced power, the engine response is sluggish, I'm burning more fuel than usual, and idling is rough. I've checked the obvious stuff – visually inspected the fuel lines for kinks, checked the fuel filter itself, but no luck. Could it really be just a bad connection somewhere?

Sounds familiar! I had something similar with my Nissan Winner. It drove me crazy for a week. The same symptoms, power loss and the rest. Have you checked the cable and plug connection to the heater itself? That was my issue. Seems simple, but these things can be sneaky.

So, you're saying it was definitely the fuel filter heater connection, and not something more sinister with the fuel line or the pump itself? Was it visibly corroded or something? Trying to avoid a bigger repair bill if I can!

Yep, that's what it was for me. Not a 100% guarantee it's the same for you but given the symptoms, I would bet on it. There was some corrosion on the plug and it wasn't sitting quite right. I tightened the pins a hair, gave the plug a good push and, voilá. Though I'd still suggest you visit a workshop to get it checked out properly.

Thanks a bunch for sharing your experience! Turns out you were spot on – it WAS a dodgy plug on the fuel filter heater. Cleaned it up, secured the connection, and everything's running smooth again. Cost me 95€ at the workshop but at least it's fixed!
