Nissan Winner Uneven Engine Jerking

My 2000 Nissan Winner with a gasoline engine is running unevenly at 53971 km. The check engine light is on, there's an error code, and it jerks when accelerating. Could this be the fuel pump, an ignition coil, or the crankshaft sensor?

Summary of the thread

A 2000 Nissan Winner is experiencing uneven engine performance, jerking during acceleration, and a check engine light with an error code. Possible causes include issues with the fuel pump, ignition coil, or crankshaft sensor. Another owner with similar symptoms found the problem to be an exhaust leak, suggesting a professional inspection of the exhaust system as a potential solution.

I drive a Winner too and had similar symptoms. Is the idle rough, or does it only jerk when you accelerate? Does it feel like an engine misfire?

The idle is rough, and it feels like a misfire, especially at lower speeds. What was the cause in your case? Any details would help.

Sounds familiar. I spent ages trying to diagnose it myself. The workshop found an exhaust leak. Cost around 265€ to repair. Get it checked by a professional.

Thanks for the insight. I'll schedule a workshop appointment to check the exhaust system for leaks based on your experience. I appreciate you sharing your fix.
