Noah engine stalls fuel composition error

I'm facing a strange issue with my 2023 Toyota Noah, gasoline engine. The check engine light comes on intermittently, and the engine sometimes stalls at idle. I've scanned the error memory and it indicates an incorrect fuel composition. The car has 84125 km. I initially suspected bad fuel, but I've now run through several tanks from different stations. Could a defective cable or plug connection be the culprit here? I'm trying to avoid unnecessary workshop visits.

I experienced something similar with my Noah. Did you notice any change in fuel economy alongside the stalling and check engine light? What about rough running or unusual smells from the exhaust? A faulty sensor related to fuel quality or contamination of the combustion chamber could also trigger such a response. It's worth investigating before assuming it's purely a connection issue.

Thanks for the input. Fuel economy seems normal, no unusual smells. It's mainly the stalling at idle and the light. The error code specifically mentions fuel composition. Could a loose connection cause the sensor to misread the fuel?

Yes, a loose or corroded connection can definitely cause a sensor to provide incorrect readings. Given that you've eliminated bad fuel as the source, and the error code points to fuel composition, I highly recommend having the sensor wiring and connectors inspected by a qualified mechanic. Ignoring it could lead to more serious issues.

Thanks. I appreciate the confirmation. I'll take it to the workshop. It turns out that the cable connection of the component was indeed defective. Repair cost was 95€.
