Noah hybrid transmission issue

Help! My 2020 Toyota Noah hybrid has a weird transmission issue. It's only done 28585 km. Sometimes the engine won't start, the check engine light pops up, and the gearbox feels like it's slipping. I scanned it and there's an error code stored. Could it be the transmission sensor?

I had similar issues with my Noah, although it wasn't a hybrid. Does it happen when you're trying to put it in park? Could be the shift lock or something with the gear linkage. Does it feel like it's not fully engaging?

Yes, it seems to happen mostly when I put it in Park. It feels like the car is in neutral even though the shifter says 'P'. The engine won't start then. What was the fix for your Noah? I hope it wasn't too expensive!

Sounds like exactly what I experienced. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a defective control unit. Imagine it like a miscommunication between your brain and your limbs. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to confirm. Mine cost around 1000€ to fix.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were right – it was the control unit. They replaced it, and everything is working fine now. The bill was almost exactly what you said! Your experience saved me a lot of worry.
