Novo charge air temperature sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Fiat Novo with a gasoline engine is experiencing a check engine light, reduced power, and a loud hissing noise during acceleration. The OBD scanner indicates a charge air temperature sensor error, specifically error code P0073. The issue is likely due to a faulty cable or plug connection to the sensor. The recommended solution is to have a professional mechanic inspect and repair the connection, which resolved the problem and restored the car's performance.

Yeah, the hissing is super loud, especially when I try to go faster. And the error code is P0073. What exactly did you do to fix it? I'm not really a car guy, so I'm kinda lost here.

Okay, P0073 confirms it, sounds like the charge air temperature sensor issue I dealt with. Honestly, with those symptoms and the error code, and given the likely cause being a cable or plug issue, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. Diagnosing electrical issues can be tricky, and you might end up causing more damage trying to fix it yourself without the right tools and knowledge. I ended up paying around 95€ for the repair.

Thanks so much for the advice! I took it to a mechanic, and you were spot on! It was a loose connection on the charge air temperature sensor. They fixed it for 95€, just like you said. Runs like a dream now!

I had something similar happen with my Novo. Is the hissing sound REALLY loud? I'm thinking it might be the same issue I encountered. Do you know the error code? I'm asking because a faulty cable or plug connection to the charge air temperature sensor can cause a lot of problems, like the ones you described, including reduced engine power.
