NOx Catalyst Aging and Exhaust Leak
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Citroen C4 with a gasoline engine is experiencing a check engine light due to a NOx storage catalyst aging issue, accompanied by a slight exhaust leak. The problem may be linked to a crack in the exhaust system near the catalytic converter. A temporary fix with exhaust sealant is possible but not reliable, and professional repair is recommended to address both the exhaust leak and the NOx catalyst issue effectively.

Thanks! I'll check the exhaust system more carefully. When you had this issue, were you able to temporarily fix it, or could you only solve it by going to the workshop?

In my case, it was a pretty clear leak once I got under the car. I tried a temporary exhaust sealant, but it didn't hold for very long. Ultimately, I had to take it to a workshop to get it properly fixed. Given the NOx catalyst involvement, it's probably best to get it professionally diagnosed anyway.

Thanks for sharing! I inspected the exhaust and found a small crack, exactly where you suggested. I'll take it to the shop tomorrow. They quoted me 265€ for the repair. Hopefully, that fixes the problem.

I had a similar issue with my C4. Could you confirm if the exhaust leak is near the catalytic converter? That's where I eventually traced my problem back to.
