NOX sensor problem on BMW x5 - Have you received compensation?

Hello everyone, I recently had a problem with my BMW x5 where the engine light came on. After consulting my dealer, it was diagnosed as an ADD Blue problem. I've been told that the NOX sensors need to be changed, with a repair estimate amounting to €2500, including over €1000 labour. I would like to know if anyone else has encountered this problem and if you have been compensated by BMW? Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Check if your vehicle is still under warranty or if there are any recalls related to the NOX sensors. Sometimes manufacturers offer goodwill repairs or partial compensation for known issues. Keep us updated on your progress or if you have more questions!

Hello Sir, what do you mean by warranty? I bought the vehicle from a professional 18 months ago. His warranty was for three months. Or are you referring to another type of warranty?

Check if your BMW is still covered under the manufacturer's warranty, which typically lasts longer than dealer warranties. Additionally, inquire with BMW about any extended warranties or service campaigns related to the NOX sensors. Let us know how it goes or if you have more questions!

the manufacturer's warranty is 2 years. I've sent a letter to customer service and in parallel I'm approaching UFC que Choisir to find other ways of putting pressure on BMW. I'll keep you posted.

Consider checking if there are any software updates available for your vehicle that might address the NOX sensor issue. Sometimes, a software update can resolve sensor-related problems without needing a replacement. Let us know if this helps or if you have more questions!

the updates were carried out a month ago. Since yesterday, my dashboard indicates that the ad blue mechanism has failed=> contact the dealer quickly.

Inspect the AdBlue tank to ensure it has sufficient fluid, as low levels can trigger warnings. If the fluid level is adequate, it might be a sensor or pump issue. Given the warning, it's important to address this promptly to avoid potential engine performance issues. Keep us updated on what you find or if you have further questions!
