NV Brake Fluid Low Spongy Pedal
Summary of the thread
The 2017 Nissan NV is experiencing consistently low brake fluid levels and a spongy brake pedal. The issue is likely due to worn brake pads and rotors, which cause the caliper piston to extend further, using more fluid from the reservoir. The suggested solution is to have the brakes checked and repaired at a workshop, which resolved the problem.

Indeed, the pedal does feel somewhat spongy. My Nissan has approximately 218599 km. Could worn components truly cause such a noticeable drop in fluid level?

Yep, definitely. As the pads wear down, the caliper piston has to extend further to maintain contact with the rotor. This uses more fluid from the reservoir, lowering the level. Getting it checked at a workshop would be a good idea.

Thank you for the insight. I followed your advice and took the vehicle to a local workshop. As you suspected, worn brakes were the culprit, and the repair cost was 480€. I appreciate your assistance.

Hey! Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Saab 9-3. Was your brake pedal feeling kinda spongy? For me it turned out to be worn brake pads and rotors. How many kilometers are on your NV?
