NX Engine Overheating Electric Fan Issue

My 2020 Lexus NX gasoline with 30844 km is overheating. The electric fan seems impaired. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone encountered something similar?

I also drive an NX. I faced a comparable situation a while back. The overheating was indeed linked to the electric fan not functioning correctly. I would suggest you check the fan motor relay and the associated wiring harness thoroughly. A corroded connector can cause intermittent failures. Has the fan been making any unusual noises prior to this issue?

Thank you for your input. No unusual noises so far. You are mentioning the fan motor relay and wiring harness - were your symptoms exactly the same? Did you fix the issue yourself or had to visit the workshop?

My symptoms were virtually identical: engine overheating due to a faulty electric fan. In my case, the relay was fine, but the connector to the fan motor showed signs of corrosion, leading to an intermittent connection. I attempted a temporary fix, but it ultimately required professional attention. Given the potential complexity, I would advise against extensive DIY repairs. I think it’s time for an expert to take a look at it.

Understood. I appreciate the confirmation and advice. Indeed, your experience mirrors mine closely. I'll take it to the workshop. It ended up costing me 95€, the cable or plug connection was defective.
