NX Tailgate Hall Sensor Error
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Lexus NX owner experienced an issue where the automatic tailgate wouldn't fully open, with an error indicating a fault in the tailgate hall sensor. The suspected cause was a defective cable or plug connection. Advice was given to check the sensor wiring for loose or corroded connections. The problem was resolved by re-seating the plug and calibrating the sensor at a workshop, avoiding the need for more costly repairs.

Thanks for the quick reply! The motor sounds okay, but I'll definitely check the wiring and connections more thoroughly. Did yours throw the same hall sensor error? Was it difficult to access the wiring?

Yes, it was the hall sensor error for me too. Accessing the wiring wasn't too bad, but honestly, if you're not comfortable with electrical work, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. Could save you a bigger headache.

Appreciate the advice! I took it to the workshop and you were spot on - faulty connection. They re-seated the plug and calibrated the sensor. Cost me 95€, much better than replacing the motor. Thanks again!

I had a similar problem with my NX. Check the sensor wiring first. Sometimes, the connections can get loose or corroded. It might be a simple fix. Does the tailgate motor sound normal when it's trying to open?
